Journey of Quilting

Quilt Festival Time!

This is always one of my favorite posts to write. It happens twice a year... the Bloggers' Quilt Festival!
Sometimes I share a new quilt, sometimes it's an older quilt. Today, I'm sharing my current favorite.
Tide Pools

Made from my stash of Heather Ross' Mendocino, this quilt took me well over a year to complete. No, not because it's so complex, hand pieced, or hand quilted. Really just because it kept getting put on the back burner for other quilts. Once I finished this quilt, it quickly became one of my favorites.

The rounded corners...(Tutorial found here)

I backed it with a vintage sheet that is so wonderfully soft.

The quilting started with conference call inspiration. Don't you just love it when inspiration comes to you at odd times? Somehow a rousing discussion about international economies translated into the quilting design...

The quilting is free motion and I just winged it as I went to mimic the randomness of the sea.

Thank you for visiting today! I hope you will head over here to see all the beautiful and inspiring quilts in the festival. It's so easy to get sucked in for hours so don't say that I didn't warn you!
