Journey of Quilting

gone...

Our chickens and other fowl are locked up in the evenings... otherwise they are free range...
but there is such sad news here...
Fred and Redfoot are missing...

gone...

I certainly was never prepared for losing animals on the farm... I thought (there was my problem) that it would be like Charlotte's Web and have the same Menagerie for years and years... come to think of it — they had their animals always near the barn...

well, Anne Marie is learning the hard way, that my (super awesome) Grandpa was right when told I was moving to the farm he said, and I quote, "don't get attached to the animals... respect them... care for them... but nothing more"

Grandpa knows me well — for he knows that ever since I was running through his garden catching frogs, or saving the injured bird, that I do get attached... I just cannot help myself...

they all have personalities... all unique... never perfect...

but Grandpa was right... is right... and once again, a farm lesson learned the hard way... and a life lesson for the children as well...

Life goes on here at the farm... it has to... and so, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend thus far, and for me and my crew here at Farm, we are going to miss Fred and Redfoot, very much. (I'm secretly hoping they are playing at the creek — which they never do — but hoping nonetheless)
